Princess Luna the Wind Weaver

Princess Luna loved living in the Butterfly Kingdom, where everything was soft and gentle and beautiful. But Luna had a secret that made her feel worried. While all the other fairy children had tiny, delicate butterfly wings, Luna's wings were completely different. They were big and clear and sparkled like glass - just like a dragonfly's wings! Every morning, Luna would look in her mirror and sigh. "Why can't I have pretty butterfly wings like everyone else?" When the other fairy children played their favorite game - floating gently from flower to flower - Luna always had trouble. Her dragonfly wings were too powerful! *Whomp, whomp!* went her wings, and suddenly all the flower petals would blow everywhere! "Oops! Sorry!" Luna would say, feeling embarrassed. One day, Luna was flying by herself near the edge of the kingdom when she saw something that made her gasp. A thick, gray cloud was rolling toward their home! But this wasn't a rain cloud - it smelled yucky and made Luna's nose tickle. "That looks dangerous!" Luna said to herself. She flew as fast as she could back to the kingdom. "Everyone! Everyone!" Luna called out. "There's a big gray cloud coming this way!" But when she got excited, her dragonfly wings flapped extra hard. *WHOMP, WHOMP, WHOMP!* The wind from her wings scattered papers and knocked over flower pots. "Luna, please be more careful!" said the Fairy Queen. "And don't worry about the cloud. I'm sure it's nothing." But Luna was worried. Every day, the gray cloud got closer and closer to their beautiful kingdom. Finally, the smelly cloud reached the Butterfly Kingdom. All the fairies started coughing. The flowers began to wilt. The bright colors turned dull and gray. "Help!" cried a small fairy voice. "Help us!" Luna looked up and saw two little fairy children trapped inside the thickest part of the cloud. They couldn't find their way out! Without thinking, Luna spread her big dragonfly wings wide. *WHOMP, WHOMP, WHOMP!* The most amazing thing happened! Luna's powerful wings created such a strong wind that they blew the gray cloud away from the little fairies! All the other fairies gathered around, feeling helpless as they watched with their tiny butterfly wings. "Keep going, Luna!" called the Fairy Queen. "Your wings are working!" Luna flapped harder than she ever had before. *WHOMP, WHOMP, WHOMP!* Bit by bit, she pushed the entire gray cloud away from their kingdom! Soon, all the other fairies joined in, flapping their delicate wings to help. But it was Luna's strong dragonfly wings that did most of the work. When the last bit of gray cloud was gone, everyone cheered! "Luna! You saved us all!" said the little fairies she had rescued. "Your different wings are wonderful!" Luna looked down at her big, sparkly dragonfly wings. For the first time ever, she didn't wish they were different. They were strong and powerful and beautiful - and they were perfect just the way they were. Luna's heart felt warm and happy. "I'm proud of my wings now," she said with a big smile. The Fairy Queen smiled at Luna. "From now on, you'll be known as Princess Luna the Wind Weaver - the fairy who can move the very air itself!" All the fairies clapped and cheered. Luna felt like the luckiest fairy in the whole kingdom. From that day on, Luna became everyone's favorite helper. When the flowers needed a gentle breeze, when wet clothes needed to dry, or when the kingdom felt too hot on summer days, the fairies would call out: "Princess Luna! Can you help us with your wonderful wings?"
